MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – Kansas State safety Wayne Jones says he suffered a minor concussion and is recovering after being carted off the field in Saturday’s game against Arkansas State.

Jones was injured while making a tackle. He stayed down for several minutes before being taken off the field on a stretcher, then was taken to a local hospital.

“You can’t tell me God is not real,” Jones tweeted Saturday evening. “I had a great doctor’s report and walked out the hospital with a concussion and some other minor things.”

Head coach Chris Klieman said after the game he was encouraged by seeing Jones moving his extremities.

“He had feeling in his hands, feeling in his toes and feet. Saying prayers for Wayne,” Klieman said in the post-game presser. “He’s one of my favorite guys, just absolutely love him, the player and person he is.”

“I thank everybody for all their prayers,” Jones said. “I’m at home right now relaxing. All Glory to God.”
